Israeli streamers reported an unexpected change to their accounts on Monday, as regular the subscriber emotes were replaced with a single one: the Gold Star.

"They removed everything, even the unicode emojis..." said Hanuchad, a popular streamer based in Tel Aviv. Subscribers, meanwhile, tried to adjust as best they could. "My chat window looked like Warsaw during the Third Reich" shared Moshe Roseman, an avid consumer of Hanuchad's content. "So many gold stars."

The sudden change came at an awkward time for the streaming giant, who has has been accused of amplifying antisemitic messaging across its platform.

Abu Bakr Al-Mujahad, Twitch's Communications Director for the MENA region refuted these claims. "They have no basis in truth. This was a temporary glitch which has already been addressed by our team". He said.

"This is just another conspiracy designed to tarnish our image. From the river to the sea, we will crush these lies", he then added.
